Weekly Photo Challenge: Weight

Balanced Rock, Arches National Park, Moab, Utah. One can see the many layers of rock that support the largest one atop. To give the viewer an indication of how large this natural monument is, I was but only the height of the largest rock to the furthest left. Like many of the arches and monuments at the park, erosion will eventually have its way and the Balanced Rock will be no more. Dapper and I were fortunate to have seen it!

Daily Gratitude: being invited to my first quinceanera party of a former student; a good 6.0+ mile hike in the woods; chicken mole

  2. Beautiful photo. There are two similar natural structures in Namibia (Southern Africa). One gave way to erosion in 1989. The other one is still standing. Great take on the challenge.
