Weekly Photo Challenge: (Extra)ordinary

Giant's Causeway, Ireland

Giant’s Causeway, Ireland (I apologize for the poor photo quality which was taken with a pocket camera as the rain was unending.)

One of the most fascinating and extraordinary earth formations I have ever seen is named The Giant’s Causeway.

“The Giant’s Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is also known as Clochán an Aifir or Clochán na bhFomhórach in Irish and tha Giant’s Causey in Ulster-Scots.” (Wikipedia)

Daily Gratitude:

  • a doctor who listens and explains well
  • freshly baked blueberry muffins
  • lunch with family

Quote of the Day:

At the bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique human being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.                                                                                                                                         ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

  1. Great photo of the Giant’s Causeway. One of our daughters got married in Carrickfergus Castle, not too far from the Causeway – her husband is from Antrim – so we took a trip to see the spectacular scenery. It truly is an amazing place.

  2. Love the quote and the picture you’ve chosen! Freshly baked blueberry muffins is definitely something (extra)ordinary to be grateful for:)
