Off to See Che, Fidel, and Celia Cruz

Well, we’re off to Cuba tomorrow morning. From what I have read, Internet service is snail-like and WiFi pretty much non-existent. Cell-phone service? Forget it, unless you have AT&T and go through a bunch of hoops to get dial tone. I may be able to sneak a photo or two onto the computer in the hotel lobby, but I imagine there’ll be a line—and I’ll have much better things to do than lug my PC along (wink, wink). (I could hardly post any summer vacation photos on my blog as I’d have to pay $$, so I will have to delete some old posts when I return.)  So no Instagram nor quick iPhone photos, no photos from my “good camera” (as I refer to it), or my trusty Canon S100 point-and-shoot. I will not even Check-In on Facebook.
So just sit over on that bench and think of me drinking an iced Anejo rum, sitting in the back seat of some ’52 Chevy with one of Dapper G’s arms slung around my shoulders and the other sporting, in hand, a Bolivar Inmensas cigar! Tenga una gran dos semanas.

Daily Gratitude: fresh-cut lawn; rust-colored mums; the tree a friend left me on the front porch yesterday

Quote of the Day for YOU: Men are like the stars; some generate their own light while others reflect the brilliance they receive.  ~Jose Marti, Cuban Writer 1853-1895

  2. ¡buen viaje! I love this image: Dapper G’s arms slung around my shoulders and the other sporting, in hand, a Bolivar Inmensas cigar! You don’t need a camera for that. 🙂
