Weekly Photo Challenge: Together

J~ and the Butterfly

Our treatment of animals is important to our own internal state. If we are to expand our horizons, to grow to understand what the relatedness of each and every thing means, then our love and appreciation of all life is essential. Our respect and reverence for all living things will be reflected in our own living.

    • Cay–thanks for asking. I had a nasty virus that I picked up in Santa Fe and have been sick ever since. I couldn’t even speak (which my husband claims is every husband’s dream) so I missed a lot of school. They are thinking that I might have walking pneumonia now . . . geesh. I’m going to try my boot camp class tomorrow and hope that gives me a kick start 🙂

  6. What a wonderful shot….simply wonderful and perfect with that quote. When I put “loving kindness” images on my own blog, the wording really is “may all beings be happy and contented, healthy and strong, safe and protected and living with ease….excluding none”…which of course, means all animials, not just the people kind.

  8. I love this image. Do you know the name of the butterfly? I’ve written a blog post about butterflies too. I love the firm, strong hand in the image and I can imagine the butterfly was resting peacefully in a gentle weather.

    • Janet–no, I’m not sure of the name of the butterfly as I’m not from the area. All she did was stick out her arm and he landed there and stayed for a few minutes! I’ll check out your blog of the butterflies.
