A Little That Side Of The Snow

Don’t let the gathering cease just because harvest time is over.

  • Make those phone calls.
  • Go that extra mile to see a friend.
  •  Send some Christmas cards.
  • Hang the suet feeder.
  • Leave the old photos on the coffee table.
  • Text someone with whom you haven’t heard from in a while.
  • Drop change into the Salvation Army bucket.
  • Buy a gift for a homeless person.
  • Take some of your gifts to the women’s shelter.
  • Gather everyone and the world in your heart.

Daily Gratitude: coffee from a friend

  1. All wonderful ideas. I used to be big into donating gifts and buying gifts for families in need at Christmas, but recently my own family problems have taken precedence and quite frankly, worn me out.

Thanks for the reminder. Since we moved two years ago, I’ve lost touch with the things that are being done in this community. Maybe it is time for me to reach out again.

  2. Beautiful image – I notice you use a Lumix. I have the DMC-LX5, but since I don’t remember what make or model is which all I will add is I really enjoy this micro camera.

    • Jeff–yeah, I have the first micro four-thirds that they made. I do adore it. Just wish I could afford the macro! For the price, I may as well get their new DMC GX1–which is getting good ratings. Love, love, love the smaller camera as I am a petite person. The only downfall is graininess on night shots, but I hear the new GX eliminates that!! Hmmm . . .

  3. Great post. I love this time of year, it is so open to reflection but also to giving, which allows us to receive so much–from others, from the act itself, from being observant and mindful of those around us.
