When It Rains, It Floods

The town in which I work is a barrier island. And whenever it rains, it floods, and floods, and floods. It’s such a common occurrence that I keep knee-length rain boots in the car during the school year—otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to get into school as a large moat encircles the building. One must also know how to navigate the roads—which roads are flooded and which ones are clear—to get anywhere on the island or off.

This was Back-to-School night. In spite of the flooding and heavy rains, the parents still came. Forecast today: Cloudy, 40% Chance of Rain

Quote of the Day for YOU: A banker is a man who lends you an umbrella when the weather is fair, and takes it away from you when it rains. ~ Traditional Proverb
