When Autumn Leaves Start To Fall

Phragmites tower over meadow grass. While phragmites are considered invasive plants, I have read that there is a native phragmite that is not as invasive. It’s very important to check with your agricultural extension center for invasive species before you purchase. It’s best to plant native species for the many benefits: bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, birds, and drought-tolerance.

The temperatures will be dipping down into the 50s at night this weekend at the shore which will give more color to the leaves. While we don’t have many trees in our garden other than evergreens, we do have the meadows to appreciate for autumn color.
