There’s No Place Like Home

I am finally home from Florida–pretty confident that my father is in good hands.

After a very stressful ten days, I slept until 10:30 a.m., and then spent several hours in the garden. Thanks to my good friend, Chrissy, the flowers were well cared for and the gardens were tidy.

I cut some lilies to add to the bouquet of flowers Dapper G bought me for my homecoming–aren’t I a lucky wife!

It was such a lovely welcoming: low 8os temperatures with little humidity and a bay breeze. After several hours of weeding and dead-heading, I went up to sun on the deck with a good book.

    • Atom–if you remove dead flowers on most perennials, the plant will spend the energy making new flowers and not seed. The view is, indeed, from our deck. There’s always a beautiful vista of the sky. Happy 4th to you!

  1. So happy about Dad being in good hands. It is a small relief, I know…but a relief of some measure.
The pics are so beautiful…as usual

  2. Gee, these flowers look familiar, what fablous photos you take, what an eye for light and beauty. I am soooo fortunate to be able to see and enjoy these things. The sky photo is magnificent, and of course so are the hydrangeas. How do you do it all? and every day too???? Glad your home, happy to hear from you and my thoughts and prayers for your parents…………Chris
