When I looked at this basket in late winter, I made a mental note to dispose of it. But now that the clematis is rambling in and over it, I think it lends a little charm to the garden. I like to hang baskets around the yard to place gloves, clippers, and trowels inside.

I took this shot with my point-and-shoot Canon IS 880 which has a great macro setting. These are the only three clematis that are currently blooming.

I have a Clematis ‘Polish Spirit’ that extends 20 feet up a plastic vine trellis that is very prolific and one that I would highly recommend.

The weather has gone from rainy to hot and sunny–just like last year. It seems that our weather pattern no longer has a spring season. Can’t complain–after all, the sun is shining!

  1. I love Clematis and planted several in my garden but they did not thrive as they don’t grow well in my area… I was sorely disappointed… Maybe I’ll try the ‘Polish Spirit’ even though I tried many hardy varieties. Love the shot of them in the basket. 🙂
