Red- Lips, Hair, and Fingernails.

Of all the children that I saw today, this little girl caught my eye for two reasons: she was dressed very traditionally with pleated skirt, white blouse and sweater–like a character from Harry Potter; and    . . .  her beautiful tresses of red hair.

I have always been attracted to people with red hair, natural red hair, that is.  There are so many unusual and unique shades–it doesn’t even seem that any two shades are alike.

I could easily envision myself with persimmon locks, a French twist, perhaps. (And, of course, the red lipstick and painted red nails.) I don’t quite have the skin color for carrot-red curls; however, I do have the freckles. Yes, a pumpkin color like the young lady above would do just fine. I’d catch a glint of light given off by the copper strands as I pass a mirror. Or glimpse flashes of golden sparkle through my long lashes. The sun would react to the apricot threads and leave a halo-like effect.

Well, you know how the saying goes: Blondes are noticed, but redheads are never forgotten.

Nice writing! How about ” She had a voice that sounded like angels floating on gossamer wings…” I could never find a place for that line!

  3. Nice shot… very English school uniform style. Have you considered changing your hair color to a suitable shade of red? You might be nicely surprised by the result.
    I loved the shot. 🙂

  4. I had red hair as a child, but started coloring it in my teens because I didn’t like it. Now that I’m growing gray, I wouldn’t mind in the least having that red hair back. 🙂

    Lovely photo and musings.
