Weekly Photo Challenge: Red II

These are a few of my cherry tomatoes from my monster plant which produced over 800 tomatoes–really–or possibly more, not counting the ones that rotted. The seeds keep dropping on the ground, and every year I grow this monster plant that spreads spider-like over the lawn. Between the tuna my husband catches and the tomatoes I raise, our neighbors love us!

  1. Love the tomatoes shot… I ‘d love to grow a monster tomato plant and would love to see a shot of yours… I’ve tried growing tomatoes but they either get eaten by my friends – the deer (who decimated my garden over the years), or they grow but don’t bear fruit. I will try again this summer. Yours are truly special. 🙂

  2. Not to be a smart ass, but the original title (in German) for “99 Red Ballons” is actually “Neunundneunzig Luftballons” which translates simply to “99 Ballons.” And, if that’s not snobbish enough, might I suggest some good replacements?

“Red Shoes” by Tom Waits (the live version on his “Big Time” album is especially bad ass)

“Little Red Rooster” by Willie Dixon performed by Howlin’ Wolf (although the Stones did do a good job of it, nobody beats the Wolf!)

That said, great post (I especially like “Red Rain” by Peter Gabriel)!

  3. Wow! So I was surprised that you said that Lady is Red was by the Bee Gee’s and I was sure it was Eric Clapton. So before I corrected you, I looked it up. We’re both wrong! It’s someone name Chris de Burgh who I swear I’ve never heard of and that’s one of my favorite songs (next to I Got You Babe, of course!). Doesn’t every women want someone who feels that way when they look at her?
