Echinacea, The Flower That Keeps Giving

This is all that’s left of my coneflowers–seeds. And that’s one of the many benefits of growing this essential flower. In the fall, the goldfinch just can’t get enough–I’m surprised that there were any left. And what is left usually self-sows which allows me to pass the seedlings along to friends or leave them where they seed. The butterflies and bees also flock to this plant all summer. As a cut flower, they have a long vase life. Just from a few plants, I now have a huge stand of pink that never disappoints.
