October Sky

The Autumn seems to have the clearest skies–so vibrantly blue. I don’t know the science behind it or even if it’s true, but I seem to be more aware of the blue skies of Fall. There’s a painting by Maxfield Parrish that seems to embody the beauty of the October sky:

So every time I see an evening sky like Maxfield Parrish’s, I always say, “Ah, it’s a maxfield-parrish sky tonight!”

Even though plants are dying, the cool blue sky, to me, is uplifting. I know I’ll feel differently in another month though.

But for now I can enjoy the cool, sweater weather without the numbing toes and chattering teeth.

I really need to learn to make “nice” with Winter.
